We hire the kind of people who take things apart.
Lagom hires slowly and carefully. This page describes the kind of person who does well here and the work they’d be doing. If you recognise yourself, we’d like to hear from you.
- Hands-on work across the whole stack
- Adelaide businesses, remote and on-site
- Always open to meeting good people

IT Support Engineer
You would be the person our clients ring. Networks, cloud and endpoints for small businesses around Adelaide, remote and on site. We want someone who takes ownership of a problem and sees it through, not someone who closes tickets.
Day to day
- Be the direct point of contact for clients, remotely and on site.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues across Windows and macOS.
- Manage Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Azure and other cloud platforms.
- Configure and maintain routers, firewalls, VLANs, DNS and DHCP.
- Support 3CX phone systems, workstations, custom builds, mobile devices and SIM services.
- Work on cyber security, backups, network storage and IT strategy.
- Log your work and keep clients in the loop.
What we look for
- Previous MSP experience, with hands-on troubleshooting and end user support.
- Solid networking knowledge: VLANs, routers, firewalls, DNS, DHCP and domains.
- Advanced Microsoft and Apple knowledge, including Azure and Microsoft 365.
- Familiarity with PSA and client management tools.
- Clear written and verbal communication, and strong time management.
- Comfortable working autonomously.

The best IT people
are the curious ones.
The kind of person we keep an eye out for
Four patterns show up in everyone who does well at Lagom.
Tinkerers by nature
You run Home Assistant at home. There’s a homelab in the cupboard. You’ve voided at least one warranty finding out how something works, then put it back together better.
Problem-thinkers
You want to know why it broke. Weird faults bug you until they make sense, and reverse engineering something is your idea of a good afternoon.
Clear communicators
You can explain a DNS issue to someone who’s never heard of DNS, without making them feel silly. You write well, and you’d rather over-communicate than leave someone wondering.
Owners, start to finish
You see things through end to end. A half-fixed problem stays on your list until it’s properly done, and the client hears from you along the way.
What you'd spend your days on
We look after IT for small and medium businesses across Adelaide: one point of contact, remote and on-site. The work is broad on purpose.
Networks & infrastructure
Routers, firewalls, VLANs, DNS, DHCP and Wi-Fi.
Cloud platforms
Microsoft 365, Azure and Google Workspace: identity, email and security done properly.
Devices & endpoints
Windows & Apple device management, custom builds, mobile fleets and 3CX phone systems.
Security & strategy
Backups, cyber security, network storage, and finding ways to make IT simpler wherever we can.
Everything else
AI workflows, automations, dashboards, website hosting, PCB design, Starlink installs, access control and the occasional fun experiment. If it has a plug or an IP address, it ends up on our bench.
Calm, honest IT. That's the whole trick.
Our clients call a person they know by name. You get the time to fix the cause of a problem, and the trust to give the honest answer over the easy one.
That approach depends on people who genuinely care about the person on the other end of the call, which is why we’re picky, and patient, about who joins.
Introduce yourself.
This page stays open all year. Email a concise, single-page cover letter and a short resume. We care about communication, so show us yours.
